The one who never came

She waited for his arrival
Every day and every hour
Little did she know
It was a promise that was
Never meant to be

She lost him long ago
On a winter day
What was more to say
When people are colder
Than the outside weather

She no longer found it
The bond they had all along
For time had changed
Their laughs to tears
so was gone

He would never come
Nor would he ever say
What is broken
Can never be mended
Its all for time to heal

She realized the truth
Blood is only thicker
If  it has come
All the way from the
Same womb as I

What I need be

I can be the sun to your daisies
Or be the shower to your roses
I can be the wind to your wet clothes
Or the warmth to cold freezing hands
I can be the bringer of grave news
Or simply exchange pleasantries

I can be your stronger side
Or break you from the inside
I can stand by you for you
Or go against all your odds

I can calm a a pounding heart
Or set fire to a silent thought
I can be your eyes and ears
Or turn complete deaf ears
I can be seen as your familiar
Or be completely seen anew

I can be the blood to your bones
Or be the teardrops of your eyes
I can be the silence of your breath
Or  break down as a thunderstorm
I can be what you always wanted
Or give you what you needed

I am to you what I wish to be
Not what you want me to be
Because I am nobody's child
