Broken Promises

You were ten and I was one
You saw me as your own
You taught me how to laugh
Loved me though I was half
You fed me and starved
In my heart love you carved
Taught me how to ride a bike
And pretty my hair girl like
Time passed seasons changed
My love for you remained unchanged
You still let me win every fight
You still call me your light
One day I saw the love change
Every word you spoke felt strange
I saw you becoming a stranger
Together you and the strange her
You didn't ease my pain
I pleaded with you in vain
I cried my heart out for you
And what did you do
You left me in the dark alone
Why did you wish me gone
You started building a wall
You didn't care I was naive and small
You broke every promise with a lie
O brother why did you let me die

Unknown

Faces in the dark
Shadows in the park
Whispers in the wood
The silent neighborhood
The Eerie hallways
The closed doorways
Soothsayer with the bird
Woman with a curse word
The night sky with a tale
The half complete trail
The soulless body
The nameless somebody
Some prayers answered
Life going backwards
Birth, death and knots
Tears, laughs and what not
Some mystifies, some scares
Some unheard, some unseen
But most remain unknown.

How do some people whom we have known since birth and loved above all become strangers one day...
