She was wrapped in red
And tucked in a basket
And they carried her away
Where it is neither dark nor day
Into the woods she was cast away
Away from men away from their kind
All they heard was a howl so loud
Leaving the basket and her to die
They ran like scared antlers away to hide
They turned and saw the basket was gone
So was the cry and only silence was on
The dark wood was magical they say
It never sleeps or stops some say
Under the starry sky stood a wolf
Gnawing at the basket in which she lay
Time passed, rivers rose again,
The hills filled with roar and a howl
The beast and the beauty
Staring into each other's eye
Each was ready for the kill
He was fast, she was faster
And into the heart she plunged her spear
Smearing herself with the winner's medal
She cut of the head and carried it to him
He stood tall, grey and bigger than ever
He howled, she howled louder
They danced in circles of joy and pride
The wind carried a roar of terror
Scaring any living being to his death
He stood on his fours, she climbed on his back
Tugging his fur, she kissed his neck
With a mighty howl they jumped from rock to rock
Racing against the wind, with all their might
Some call them eternal lovers, others the devil's duo
A beauty and beast be together
And never harm each other
It was then their love was tested
A hunter's arrow brought him down
She vowed never to part him in life or death
She cut her heart to be with him once and for all
Their bodies found and burnt in a pyre so fierce
They stood lifeless in what they saw
She rose from the ashes just like him
A snarl and a snap was all that they heard
Into a dust they whole village was charred
They lovers were united for all they were
The beauty had found her beast they say
And to this day they can hear them howl
They eternal lovers united in life and death
