Kaya

They trample me torture me
Stamp me spit on me
They put a hole through me
And drain me of my blood
Still in life and death
They coexist with me
They sacrifice me
They divide me, burn me
Every now and then
What am I to them
After it is I who gave them
What they have wanted
And this is what they give me
They burden me, toxic me
They burn me everyday
And how they burn with me
I silently bear it all
Hoping they will change
But it is only I who change
Everyday I lose a little
They lose more than a little
Unknown to them I bear it all
For then there are always those
Who love me care for me
And nurture life in me
And worship me wholly
With their heart and soul
And it is in them I bury
The seeds of hope
For a better tomorrow
