Fire

They touched, they mocked
They undressed me with their thoughts
They shamed me with their words
They bled me with their actions
They stole my right to say no
They were brothers, sons,
 Husbands and fathers
They spared no sisters, daughters
 Wives nor mothers
They rose amongst family and friends
They stood undaunted while daunting
They laughed while tears ran down my face
They called me names that I didn’t deserve
They blamed my clothing and my body
They stood watching the show
Wolf-whistling, cat calling and taunting
They saw me get up and burn
They saw I was alive and burning bright
They saw my flames catching up to them
They saw I am the fire that burns brighter
They burnt slowly turning into ash in a pyre
They now know not to mess with the fire
